Ideal for Use on SUVs The tires of the ContiCrossContact LX Sport product line guarantee optimum handing and braking performance both on the road as well as on easily navigable terrain.

This is achieved with stiff rows of tread blocks in the center of the tread pattern which enable very good transmission of power between the tire and the ground surface. Also worthy of particular mention is the excellent braking performance on wet roads which is made possible to a high number of tread blocks on the shoulder and a balanced sipe density. Finally, the flat design of the tire contour makes for a uniform wear pattern and optimized rolling resistance.

The SSR principle:

Unlike conventional tires, the SSR principle is based on a reinforced self-supporting sidewall. This prevents the inside of the tire from getting pinched between the road and the rim and from slipping into the rim well in the event of a loss of inflation. The SSR's reinforced sidewall enables the car to continue on its way at a maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) for up to 80 km (50 miles), depending on road conditions and vehicle weight.
